Ramadan Day 5
Mar. 15th, 2024 10:54 pmLearned a couple of things about my habits today while trying to get my things done without going mad. Having fruit at suhoor does in fact make a difference in my well-being, and having hot tea at both suhoor and iftar is what I most look forward too. Even though I'm hungry and excited to eat, I am most excited for my hot tea with milk and pistachio syrup (bought it on a whim, will do again, strongly recommend).
Feeling grateful that even though the day felt slow overall, I did things that felt meaningful, like writing postcards to my Losers in the Legislature to mail out and working on my creative projects. Finished rewatching How to Survive a Plague and remembered how much watching the progression of Bob Rafsky's life (an ACT UP activist) affects me. Thinking about how that single loss resonates with me so deeply and then expanding to imagine how the resonance of all the thousands of loses in Gaza are affecting me. In some ways I think it's no wonder that my health is a mess right now.
Here are some prisms on one of my projects that felt fitting.
